At Sangeet Arghya, we believe that music is a form of worship—a bridge between the inner self and the infinite universe. Founded with the vision to blend the rich traditions of Indian classical music with contemporary pedagogy, our academy follows the time-honored Guru-Shishya Parampara to pass on this sacred knowledge.

Our founder, Smt. Angana Bhattacharya, is a dedicated vocalist and academician with over two decades of performance and teaching experience. Having trained under renowned Gurus and holding a Master’s degree in Music and M.Ed., she brings both knowledge and heart to every lesson.

Born in Kolkata, West Bengal.She is raised in a joint family with a traditional musical back ground.Her mother Smt.Papiya Chakraborty was her first Guru.She has taken Taaleem under Guru Sishya Parampara from various Guru’s : Sri Jahar Lal Basu,Smt.Jaya Mitra, Dr.Rajasree Bhattacharya,Smt.Tamalika Guha,Smt.Anita Mukhopadhyay, Sri Goursaran Dasgupta,Dr.Alpana Munshi,Dr.Mitra Bandopadhyay.She has attended various UGC Sponsored International Seminars.Presently she is associated with a B.Ed College in Kolkata as an Assistant Professor of Music.

• Featured Performer in ‘Kabipranam’, organized by the Department of Information & Culture, Govt. of West Bengal

• Represented West Bengal at the World Culture Festival (2016), hosted by Art of Living, with 155 countries participating

• Honored Participant in ‘Echoes of Geetanjali’, organized by Muktadhara (2015)

• Over 20 years of active participation in concerts, musical seminars, and classical showcases across India

• Mentored by esteemed Gurus in the Hindustani classical tradition, including Dr. Alpana Munshi, Dr. Mitra Bandopadhyay, Smt. Anita Mukhopadhyay, and others
